This architect-designed Scandinavian-style cottage is adjacent to the green of the classic Suffolk village of Hartest. Featured in the Doomsday Book, it is one of Suffolk's most attractive and unspoilt villages. The village green has lovely period cottages on all sides. Close to the property is a 16th-century country pub with a restaurant and garden, and which serves ales from a micro brewery. There is a traditional butchers on the village green and two local vineyards within easy reach. A value base for couples and small families, Hartest is an easy drive from the Suffolk Heritage Coast and Constable Country. It is equidistant between the market towns of Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, close to Lavenham, Long Melford and Ickworth. Good walks abound directly from the property. Shop 5 miles, pub/restaurant 50 yards.
